Dogs are man’s best friend, but it doesn’t stop there. When you come home from a long day at work, your dog is always waiting for you to return and greet you with its tail wagging and unconditional love. It’s true that dogs will follow their owners around the house because they want nothing more than to be by your side; however, there are many other reasons why dogs follow their owners around the house. They Are Excited
If you come home from an extended period of time away from your house, then your dog will most likely be extremely excited to see you. They have been waiting for you all day, and they can’t wait any longer to show their owner how much they care about them! Just as a child running towards their parents to be picked up, so will your dog run towards you. If they are not allowed to jump all over you or get all of their wiggles out, then this might cause them to act out in different ways, such as following you everywhere you go in the house. This is their way of saying, “I missed you.”
They Want To Play
Most dogs love to play, and they will follow their owner anywhere that a play session might happen! Dogs will follow their owners upstairs because they want to see if they are going to bring out the toys. Sometimes you may not even realize it, but your dog is following you around the house because they want to initiate a game of tug-of-war! If you are not paying attention to your dog, then they will let you know that they want to play with a bark of excitement.
They Want Attention
Dogs are very loving animals, and they just want to be loved by their owner. If you were away for an extended period of time during the day, then it’s possible that your dog has been following you around because all they want from you is to pay them some attention! However, if you have no time for your dog due to work or other responsibilities, then they will find any way to get your attention. This might be them barking in your face or jumping up all over you trying to get that affection that they’ve been longing for.
